usually before i sleep, i have many thoughts running through my head. today is no exception. many a times i have given in to the temptation of sleep, waking up the next morning, only to forget what i had wanted to type when i finally got down to logging on to blogger. last few days have been pretty hazy for me. felt like i was in a perpetual drunked state.

my jaw has been aching for a while.. everytime i stretch it, hurts like hell. went to the doc's and he said my jaw is overworked and gave me relaxants. the med is really damm strong. everytime i take it.. i feel like i just drank 10 shots of vodka or something. really in a daze.. and i cld not even walk properly. on the other hand, i slept like a baby. so apologies to those online for being m.i.a. hahah u know who u are.

watched memoirs of a geisha!!! with nic and weihao. well... i haven't read the book so can't compare. but coming from someone who is into the whole jap culture/language thingy, it was pretty superficial. i mean while ziyi zhang (like how the voice over says her name), li gong (how her name wld be said by angmohs when she sells out to hollywood) and michelle yoew did a good job as geisha, i think the vindictiveness/slutiness of hatsumomo (gong li), and the slient and subtle possessiveness of nobu-san (forgot the actor's name) were a stand out. the chairman (watanabe ken) was a let down. his character was so plain, although i highly suspect that if the whole show was done in jap, there wld be more room for depth of character. but we all know that angmohs cannot read subtitles. so everything must be in their language. really, if the whole movie was in japanese, i felt that the japanese actors wld have been able to better express themselves. not that casting chinese actresses are a bad choice, but who better at understanding the culture of the geisha than the japs?

nonetheless, the colours, costumes, sets were vibrant and full of life. they really captured the image of gion in those times. the make up was really good as well. i wld say a visual fest was presented to me in this movie. well... nic did find something interesting in the show. although i think it's silly. he's very amused by the word 'mizuage' (i.e. virginity) ahahah i dunno why man. heh... only for him to lose his, no one wld be bidding for it! heh! that was mean.. but oh wells.. :P

on other things.... hmmmm..... nothing much really... i always seemingly get myself into sticky/uncomfy situations. although unknowingly. but pple around me? they always get themselves into sticky/uncomfy situations with prior knowledge. i mean... they knowingly get themselves in trouble. and i dunno why... seems like they find it fun. if u know that something bad is going to happen, then why put urself there in the first place. unless u really like trouble lah. but it makes no sense. pple try to get out of these type of things, but i have frens who appear to WANT to get into it.

on an extremely happy note!!!!!!!! my dearest dearest fren has come back to spent cny in sg!! yay!!! okaeri!!!!! i am soooo looking forward to spending some quality time with u and brushing up my jap babe!!! nihongo tasuketekudasai ne!!! happy happy joy joy! it's 5.50am now and i think i shall retire before my swollen eye become worse. been falling sick these few days.. dunno why.. shd take care of myself more.. cos ain't no one's gonna do it for me. goodnight(morn) world!
